I started Backus Consulting for leaders who have a clear vision and more ideas than hours in the day. My work is turning that vision into something that actually happens: the systems, the project plans and the follow-through that move a goal from a slide to a finished result. I'm an executor and an operator. I listen closely to where a company is trying to go, then build the machinery to get it there.
I work across teams and departments, usually right alongside the executives setting the direction. Depending on what a company needs, that can look like standing up the tracking and dashboards that show where projects really stand, running the cross-functional meetings that keep everyone aligned, or keeping a complicated initiative on task. I take on a small number of clients at a time so each one gets real attention.

Before founding Backus Consulting, I was the operational wiz at a fast-growing global education company. I worked directly with the COO and Chief Revenue Officer, ran project management for the executive team, and moved the whole organization off scattered spreadsheets and slide decks onto one system with automated tracking and live dashboards. I facilitated leadership conferences from Boston to Bangkok to Dubai, ran working groups that reached from the sales front line to the C-suite, and became the person leadership came to for an honest read on where the team really stood. I'm comfortable telling executives difficult truths in a way they can actually act on.
